In 2016, the swim buoys floated away DURING the swim. In 2018, they only placed one buoy 0.6 miles away where you couldn't see it and we swam back directly into the sun. They also had all lengths start along the same path line, so you had to swim through waves of swimmers coming towards you. I avoided a head-on collision, but several of my friends weren't so lucky. The bike was along bumpy roads with cars speeding past at 55mph+ and NO shoulder. The run is along a dusty road with no shade.
Race was great except it was cold in September. Race manager did an awesome job. Swim portion got messed up and the swim was long but hey--accidents happen. Otherwise well done for a local race.

I am the wife of a runner. Not chip times. Aid stations didn’t say what they said they would have. Markers for routes were not well seen. What they did have looked old and gross. No water bottles only cups. No organization. Run was on a gravel road that they didn’t even wet down to get rid of dust. Cattle guard not covered that was almost tripped on by everyone.
